Each August Bank Holiday weekend something truly magical
happens.
England’s Medieval Festival
provides the backdrop for the most
authentic historical experience of its kind.
Step back in time and immerse yourself in the sights, sounds
and atmosphere of days gone by. Wedding parties will delight
in this unique event and guests of all ages will discover so
much to see and do during their time at the festival.

an alternative hand-fasting or blessing

With the
sights
and sounds of the medieval village, the weekend offers a
limited number of couples a special themed experience never
to be forgotten.
All festival guests can enjoy acres of parkland, lawns and
formal period gardens containing hundreds of species of
flowers and plants. Wander through the authentic medieval
village or discover the hidden court yard or woodland
folly. Jousting takes place behind the castle and the bridge
entrance across the moat welcomes thrilling battle
re-enactments all weekend.
Accommodation options vary within the
festival
grounds and
locally in the area. For an authentic medieval experience
guests can sleep under the stars in furnished glamping
tents with private areas available for groups.
In the evening the full festival entertainment
provides
plenty of fun with character performances and lively music
from popular folk bands. Our optional medieval banquet
offers an authentic option to feast and toast the happy
couple in the castle. Alternatively, guests can indulge in
a delicious peasants hog roast and tankard of mead under the
stars. We are happy to tailor private entertainment with
anything from traditional medieval flute music and romantic
stargazing to performing mummers and magical wizards.
